FAQ

How does OddsEdge calculate edges?

OddsEdge scans sportsbook prices and converts odds into implied probabilities. It removes the market hold by comparing both sides of a market, then estimates a fair probability from the broader sportsbook market. Edge is the difference between OddsEdge's fair probability and the probability implied by the available sportsbook price.

Does OddsEdge tell me what to bet?

No. OddsEdge is a data and research platform only. It does not provide betting advice, financial advice, investment advice, or recommendations to place any wager.

How often is the data updated?

The scanner currently updates about every 15 minutes. This may change later depending on API limits, demand, and subscription growth.

Why are some sports or markets missing?

OddsEdge only scans active markets supported by the available API plan. More sports and deeper market coverage may be added later if there is enough demand to justify upgrading scan limits.

What does “Books Used” mean?

Books Used is the number of sportsbooks included in the fair-probability calculation for that market. More books generally means a stronger market consensus.

Can an edge lose?

Yes. A positive edge does not mean the outcome will win. It only means the available price may be better than the broader market estimate. Sports betting involves risk, and users are solely responsible for their own decisions.
